EXPLORING (>> pictures)

Mt Baldy is a great place to explore. There are many historical sites, located all over the mountains as well close to the village. You can explore the canyons and find old mining facilities. There are places to find gold mines, lapis mines, large vanes of graphite even a remains of equipment used to first measure the speed of light between Lookout mountain and mountain. Some are fairly easy to visit, some are not accessible without a experienced guide.
Remains of ore crusher at the Gold Ridge mine site, about 3/4 mile below the Ski hut.		Bolt installed around 1895, to hold water pipe used to supply strip mine, close to current Notch restaurant.
