Poison Oak Up and left, Poodlebush are the two pictures on the bottom. Not everyone gets reaction from those plants, however if you do, remember how they look like and avoid them. Poison Oak can grow almost any color and is easy to get even in winter when there is no sign of leaves. Wear long pants and long sleeve shirt.
When home wash everything right away including your body. Start with cool water that will keep your pores closed while you are washing the poison oak oils.
Poison oak generally does not grow over 5500' feet elevation, so if you want to avoid contact with it, hike in higher elevation.
